Welcome to the parenting page. This is a soul-searching and story sharing time for all of us.

Many factors in life affect a child’s development from birth to adulthood. There are genes, family environment, social-economic status, culture, race, tradition, health, education, time frame and world events. This list can go on and on. (The pandemic has, and will change our life forever.) Then, how much do parents matter?

Content

We will start with parenting in general, focusing on Northern America. What are the parents like, and how do experts suggest the way with children. Our next area of interest is nature vs nurture or nature and nurture. This subject has been in great discussion for world educators and psychologists. Our point is, nature is something we have no control. It is innate. Nurture is parenting and environment. Something we have some control.

Our background, however, is something we have no control also. The country, culture, tradition, religions and the time or generation we were born into, all have a great impact on our life. We are all unique with our specific background.

This is here that we can share our parenting experience, different culture and religion. Our readers are our best contributors for parenting stories. Other families with different or challenging circumstances can inspire us for their courage, perseverance, love and patience. Families with:

  • single / divorce parents
  • step parents / children
  • single sex parents
  • adopted children
  • special need children (health + mental)

This list can go on and on.

Last but not least, there are grandparents. Grand parenting plays a great part throughout the ages. Their words of wisdom will provide us with insights across generations.

Every family is unique. What works for one family might or might not work for another.

We all need inspiring stories to help and support each other. These stories come from our precious readers!

(We do filter out each story submitted. Respect for other culture, race, religion is self-respect. Please share your story without judging or offending others.)
